What a lovely and handy list! I've already started a word study in one of my journal's that was somewhat neglected. I'd never heard of vision casting before so will give it a try! Might be good for getting some conversations out of my head.

Oh! I really love this article! I find the personalized color swatches idea brilliant! I think I’m going to try it, even if I’m not really going to study arts, but just to train my eye to see differently when I like something.

Personally, I also keep a journal for things I want to remember, not necessarily epic moments, but just quiet everyday ones that feel like a treat (for example my baby playing with the cat, or pulling grass off in our garden, or a particularly wonderful nap I had 😅)

I think that’s a lovely way to journal!

This was such an inspiring piece. I am plugging away at completing my Masters, but soon I will be able to join in the conversations again. I ordered a Paper Republic journal and can not wait to use it!!

Oooo which one did you order???

Such nice ideas. I recently started putting a poem or passage I want to memorise at the beginning of each new pocket journal, and it’s the perfect thing to take out and do when I’m waiting in line or on an airplane, or somewhere else I might otherwise just pick up my phone.

That’s a great idea. I’d love to try that.

I love the idea of exploring color in art .While I can't draw a straight line, playing with acrylic markers feels like a great creative outlet.

I love this so much! I'm always looking for new ways to use my pocket journal and will need to start a word study in one of my journals now. That is a lovely idea. When I think of pocket journal ideas, I always come back to creating a 'love list', it's just a journal filled with a list of all the things I love or notice throughout my day. It helps me practice gratitude and acknowledge the little things that I'd otherwise overlook.

I would love to see 2 photos of every journal you use—closed and opened to a typical, non-private page. Each one of yours serves a specific purpose. I have so many blank ones (in several sizes, including traveler-style binders) I could use in similar ways. Your photos would help me sort through them and match them to good uses. Just a thought.

Leaders During Division and Decline

The same challenge confronts Founders, leaders and policymakers: societal division and unsustainability. Unequal economies, divided political institutions and a damaged environment are sapping trust and stability.

But in that crisis lies our chance: By co-championing sustainability and unity we can move from crisis to resilience. Envision policies that incorporate carbon pricing and investment in green infrastructure; technologies that expand renewable energy and circular economy hubs; communities empowered through tree planting, wetland restoration and solar cooperatives.

These are progressive yet accessible policies that provide market certainty; these are transformative technologies that create new markets; and these are grassroots efforts that build trust. Markets and communities follow leaders who walk the talk on mindful consumption, energy efficiency and plant-based diets.

The question is not whether change is possible; the question is will we lead it. Let us create a community of visionaries committed to sustainability and unity. What is the most urgent action leaders must take today to protect the future?
